Mrs. Cecilia S. Kuehn, 69, Rt. 2, Waunakee, a lifelong Town of Springfield resident, died Friday (May 12, 1972) at the home of a son, Wilfred, Rt. 1, Cross Plains, after a brief illness. She was the former Cecilia Koch, and was born in this area in 1902.

She was married on May 6, 1930, to Lawrence Kuehn, who died in March, 1971.

Mrs. Kuehn was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Martinsville, and its Christian Mothers.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vincent Frey, Lodi; Mrs. David Ellickson and Mrs. Richard Ziegler Jr., both of Waunakee; seven sons, Edmund, Florance, Leo, and Joseph, all of Waunakee; Gerald, Middleton; Linus, Dane, and Wilfred, Route 1, Cross Plains; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Esser, Mrs. Teresa Meyer, Mrs. Catherine Kuehn, Mrs. Hedwig Pertzborn, all of Madison; 43 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.

The Rosary was recited Sunday evening at 8 p.m. by the Christian Mothers Society.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Schwab Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. from the church. The Rev. Clarence Stoffel officiated.

Pallbearers were: Steven Kuehn, Michael Kuehn, Daniel Meyer, Henry Esser, Robert Pertzborn, and Alfred Kuehn.

Burial was in St. John’s cemetery, Waunakee.
