*Melvin Lloyd Brightbill was born at Grape, Monroe County, Michigan on Oct. 24, 1895 [more likely 1898], the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Brightbill. He lived his entire life in the Monroe vicinity. He served in the Army in World War I. He married Jewel Snow at Toledo on Nov. 3, 1930, and until his illness was employed as a stitcher operator at the Consolidated Paper Co. He died of pneumonia in Veterans Hospital in Dearborn on Feb. 23, 1953. He had been in poor health for 18 months. He is survived by his wife, a son, Robert Lloyd, at home; four brothers, Henry W., Newton E. and William of Monroe and Kring of Ypsilanti, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Delano and Mrs. Morgan Abbey, both of Ypsilanti.
