Olive Blanche Hasbrouck
Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. and at the Zion Lutheran church at 2:15 p.m. for Mrs. Henry Carl August Schulke who died September 7.
Pallbearers were Frank Schmidt, Sigrud Dahl, Tore Myren, Fred Fiss, Herbert Engstrand and Fred Schwartz. Interment was made in the Carlos cemetery.
Olive Blanche Hasbrouck was born March 25th, 1890, the daughter of Chauncey Hasbrouck and Lilly Hansen Hasbrouck. She passed away at a local hospital Sept 7 at the age of 60 years, 5 months, and 12 days, having been brought to the hospital three days previous. Mrs. Schulke had been in failing health for some time and has been cared for by her children. She had lived in this community all her life.
On March 28th, 1905, she was married to Henry Carl August Schulke. They farmed for eight years in Ida township until in 1912 when Mr. Schulke purchased a farm in Spruce Hill township, which was the family home for over 30 years. Mr. Schulke passed away on Jan. 22 1943.
Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Schulke, one daughter, Winnie, passed on in infancy.
The surviving children are: Mrs. Alfred Anderson (Clara), Miltona; Herbert Schulke, Miltona; Vernon Schulke, Lilliwaupe, WA; Mrs. Venner Sundberg (Bertha), Long Prairie; Walter Schulke, Miltona; Mrs. James Keller (Dorthea), Forada; Mrs. Vigge Sorenson (Laura), Minneapolis; Elmer Schulke, Alexandria; Mrs. Clarence Ziegelman (Elnora), Wadena; and Norman Schulke, Kenosha, WI.
Brothers surviving are Clarence Hasbrouck, Pequot; Frankford Hasbrouck, Frazee; Mrs. Geo. Gatchell, Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Schulke is also survived by a step-mother, Mrs. Cora Hasbrouck of Cass Lake, and the following family: Mrs. Lee South, Cass Lake; Mrs. Jenetta South, Case Lake; Mrs. Christ Saure, Cass Lake; Mrs. Norman Palmer,OR; Mrs. Eugene South; Mrs. Eva Wade, Kelso, WA; Chauncey Hasbrouck, Cass Lake; Charles Hasbrouck, Cass Lake; Donald Hasbrouck, Cass Lake. Also surviving are several grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
