Mrs. Jennie Tyler, 62, a resident of Delphi (Carroll County), Indiana was found dead in her apartment in the GOP building on South Washington Street Friday morning. Mrs. Tyler had evidently been seized with a sudden heart attack just after she arose for the day. Her body was found beside the bed at 9 a.m. by her son, William Tyler.
Born May 31, 1885 in Monon, Indiana, she was the daughter of Itha and Sara (Ellis) Thompson. She was the widow of John Russell Tyler, Spanish-American War Veteran, who died in July 1946. A member of the Christian Church, she was active in the Delphi Unit of Mothers of World War II.
Surviving are two sons: William of Delphi; and Donald of Champaign, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. William (Nettie) Widner of Delphi and a brother, Joseph Thompson of Rural Route, Monticello.
Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Grimm Funeral Home with the Reverend Howard Jenkins officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
