Bedford- Mack W. Banks, 86, of Bedford died at 6:40 pm on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the White River Lodge.
Born November 6, 1927 in Springville, IN he was the son of Frank and Lorene (Greer) Banks. He married Ameila Ramsey on May 2, 1967 and she survives. He was a retired bus driver and maintenance worker for the North Lawrence Community Schools. He attended Silverville Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his wife Amelia of Bedford; six sons: Thomas Chumley and his wife Wanda of Radcliff, KY, Douglas Chumley and his wife Cheryl of Sanford, VA, Curt Chumley of Seymour, David Wayne Banks and his fiancé Missy of Bedford, Mack Banks, Jr. of Bedford, and Daniel Banks and his fiancé Jane of Bedford; one daughter: Catherine Lynn Brown and her husband Robert of Bedford; several grandchildren, one great grandchild; one brother: Chet Banks and his wife Patty of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers: Richard "Bill" Banks, Franklin Banks, Jim Banks, John Banks, Roger Banks, and three in infancy, one sister, Wanda Jackson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville West Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter #2. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
