Born in Goochland, Virginia, USA on 1750 to Robert Chandler and Priscilla.

Timothy married Hetty Jane Temple.

Timothy Chandler was a veteran of the Battle of King's mountain. He served with Col. John Sevier at the "Battle of Kings Mountain" South Carolina in 1780. On returning home, John Sevier was entrenched in the "Battle of Boyd's Creek". These Revolutionary War battles were won and helped spiral John Sevier to be the first governor of both the states of Franklin and Tennessee.

Timothy Chandler was granted land at the site of the later battlefield (Boyds Creek) for his Revolutionary War service. His plantation Wheatlands would eventually be located there.

Today Wheatlands Plantation still stands on Boyds Creek Road between Seymour and Sevierville, TN.
