Prayers for Ruth Clara Welter, 89, will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Norris-Walen Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, proceeding to St. Mary's Church in West Chicago, for a Mass at 9 a.m., with Father William Conway officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Born Oct. 17, 1917, in Wheaton, to Nicholas and Mary Welter, she passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Countryside Care Center in Aurora. Ruth enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, and word search puzzles. She is survived by her four sisters, Katherine Welter of Aurora, Esther Klingberg of Batavia, Violet Begerman of North Aurora, and Ann Kroning of Wheaton; one brother, Richard of West Chicago; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Adamson; and one brother, John Welter. Contributions in Ruth's memory can be made to the American Hearing Research Foundation, 8 S.
