Rose Etta Underwood was the daughter of Elmore Preston 'Mode' Underwood and Eveline Belcher.

She married George Wesley Hill in Howard Co, Arkansas on Dec 23, 1903. George was her sister Fannie Pearl's brother in law, Pearl having married Willie Albert Hill 2 years previously.

Rose and George moved from Arkansas, to Texas, to Oklahoma and finally settled in Weatherford, Parker Co, Texas where they raised their family.

According to Tim Bingham, she loved making rag rugs and when the rugs became so large that she could not manage them by herself then her husband, George, would help her turn them.
