Mr. Auxier was a retired employee of the Civil Service Agricultural Department. He operated a general store at Depauw from 1914 to 1923. Born at Rectorville, Ky., he was a son of Louis Garland and Augusta Hurt Auxier. The deceased was a member of the Corydon Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Beanblossom-Steenbergen Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Emory Bruner. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers are Frank W. Ordner, Elmer Rosenbarger, Ben Kiger, Forest Churchill, C. Bliss Eskew and Herman Cromwell.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Seacat Auxier and four daughters Mrs. Everett (Margaret) Marshall of Anderson, Mrs. Charles E. (Mary) Evans of Chillicothe, Ill., Mrs. William (Joan) Keller and Mrs. John (Harriet) Mauck of Corydon. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters, Kenneth Auxier of Edinburg, Julian Auxier of Cincinnati, Herschel Auxier of Vero Beach, Fla., Miss Miriam Auxier of Walkerton, Mrs. Esther Smith of Cincinnati and Mrs. Christine Brentlinger of Washington,D.C.
The family requests expressions of sympathy contributions be sent to the Children's Hospital in Louisville.
