Elizabeth Dudley Wade, 97, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clyde Thomas Wade.
Born April 1, 1917 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Rosa Martin Dudley and was also preceded in death by three sons, William, Stanley, and Monte Wade; a daughter, Patsy W. Sage; four brothers, John Dudley, Carlton Dudley, Alexander Dudley, and Roy Dudley, Jr. and four sisters, Gracie Reynolds, Emma Reynolds, Louise Plane, and Janie Wilson. Mrs. Wade was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a member of the Mountain View Church of God. . . .
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Lonni Wickard and the Rev. Desi Justice officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
The family sends special thanks to the staff of The Carrington, where Mrs. Wade resided for the past year.
