Viola Irene Aasen, age 78, of Iola, passed away on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Town of Harrison, Waupaca County, Wisconsin on April 23, 1935; daughter of the late Nellie Rivrud and Gilman Peterson.
Viola graduated from Rosholt High School in 1953. She married Everett Aasen Nov 28, 1953 at Northland Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering and gardening. Viola was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
She is survived by her Husband: Everett Aasen of Iola; Daughters: Cindy (Gene) Wasrud of Iola. Linda (Tary) Trepasso of Iola. Four Grandchildren: Jamey (Jason) Karnitz, Port Edwards; Jon (Katie) Wasrud, Cottage Grove, MN; Nick Trepasso, Wausau; Tanner Trepasso, Milwaukee and Great Granddaughter: Hadley Grace Wasrud. She was preceded in death by her parents: Nellie & Gilman Peterson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Northland Lutheran Church, N9880 Hwy. 49, Iola, at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be held Friday 9:30 - 11:00 AM. at the church. Interment of cremains will be in the parish cemetery.
