Clay Tarpley's Memorial should actually be titled, "Henry Clay Tarpley." He was born 1878, in Farmers' Branch, Dallas County, Texas. His Parents were Mary Frances Shrader Tarpley and Sterling Lake Tarpley (both buried in Bethel Cemetery in Frisco, Collin County, Texas). His wife Mary Duncan Tarpley is also buried in Bethel Cemetery in Frisco, Collin Co., Texas. He had been traveling and arrived sick at his brother's (Carl Lee Tarpley) home in Quay Co., New Mexico, where he died. Clay as he was called, had four children, Jennings Palmer Tarpley (a veteran of both WWI & WWII), Irene Tarpley, Melvin Meredith Tarpley, and Mary Louise Tarpley.
