Bio

My father Cecil Sena passed Dec 4 2019 he was born in Clovis, NM. He was my mentor, teacher, philosopher, life lesson healer. Currently My mother Lucy (Madrid) Sena passed on May 2, 2021 after being on hospice since 2017. I miss them dearly!! Most of my relatives knew me as Della Sena short for Delfinia ..when i was a child.. My grandfather Manuel Sena (grandmother- Serafina Duran Sena who's parents were Cipriano Duran and Amosa Baca) gave me my baptismal name "Delfinia" named after Delfinia Romero who was married to Jose Albino Sena. We are the decendents of Bernadino de Sena (Santa Fe) he is my 6th great grandfather. (My dna states i am 49 percent Spain and 25 percent Native American (Iberian Penisula) Pointing to the Pueblos on the DNA map. I have been interested in ancestry for as long as I can remember. Treasuring photos of family .. I was born and raised in Clovis, NM and most of my family is buried in Mission Gardens. I thought it so important to not only see a headstone marker but the face of a person that spoke volumes of love, life and history. My mother was born and raised on Gonzales Ranch, New Mexico. From the valleys of wildflowers, heat, old cisterns, crumbled adobe, and history that is rooted there. My grandfather Federico Madrid is buried there i recorded gravestone markers in the San Ysidro cemetery in Gonzales Ranch back in 2001 you can find my article here: https://quay.nmgenweb.us/resources/cemeteries/san_ysidro.html I took a record of the gravestone markers and as I was doing so i thought, why not put a face to the history behind the marker.. Find a grave is a beautiful place where families can be reunited in photos as well as helping the young to find a photo of their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, children, grandparents, great grandparents.. I was able to reunite my father with his father, mother and brothers who have passed here on Find a Grave. Photos give families a mental picture of who they were, and are, and who is to come.. I am a retired Childcare giver Life Lessons teacher-before ,during, and after school and beyond teacher. I worked 8 years in a child care center in Portales, NM. met my husband military CAFB from Missouri (he was widowed with 2 children)as i divorced with 1 child. A beautiful blended family. I was employed 16 yrs in the school system in Missouri. That my friend is the rest of the story :o) Thank you for listening..sorry my words are so long..like a photo it takes a lifetime to tell the story.. Have an awesome day :o) ~Catherine
