Elvin J. Johnson
Elvin J. Johnson, 70, of 1200 Lincoln St., Space 231, died Thursday.
He was born Feb. 23, 1913 in Mulvane, Kan. He married Frances Burns on May 29, 1939 in Liberal, Kan. They moved to this area for the first time in 1958. They later relocated, but moved back to Whatcom County again in 1974.
He worked as a compressor station operator for El Paso Natural Gas Co. for 18 years.
He was a charter member of the Nooksack Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, five grandchildren and a sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Nooksack Valley Baptist Church, Rev. John Ruhlman officiating. Burial will be in Greenacres Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Nooksack Valley Baptist Church building fund.
