Graveside services are set for 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Draper and the Rev. Martin Vandergriff officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
The family receives friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born June 2, 1929, in Fannin County, the son of George Washington and Myrtle Lee Shepherd Sitz. He attended Honey Grove schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Ray Walter’s Texaco Oil Distribution for 13 years and retired from Babcock and Wilcox Corp. after 23 years of employment. He married Joyce Yvonne Partridge on June 25, 1955, in Dallas and was a member of Lakeway Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glynn Hindman; and two sisters, Linda Boehme and Joyce Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne, of Paris; three sons, Terry Sitz of Powderly, Greg Sitz and wife, Lisa, of Corsicana and Kyle Sitz and wife, Jennifer, of Chicota; five grandchildren, Ryan and Shelby Sitz of Paris, Elijah Carpenter of Chicota and Jeremy and Amanda Spivey of Corsicana; two brothers, Andy Sitz and wife, Betty, and Billy Sitz and wife, Cloyce, all of Paris; one uncle, Woodrow Shepherd of Honey Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
