Born in New Bedford, son of Arthur E. and Edith A. (Armanetti) Briggs, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A graduate of Westport High School, he was a horticulturist for various nurseries in the area and was a member of the Massachusetts State Nursery Association. Mr. Briggs was an Eagle Scout with Troop 63, Westport and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Including his parents, he is survived by a brother, Paul C. Briggs of Hollywood, FL.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Potter Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport.
