Janis was the short, beloved wife of Michael (NavyTeam1). They met 38 years ago at Yosemite, their first date was on her 20th birthday. They have had a lifetime of love and joy amoung family and friends, but it is always to early to lose someone as special as Janis.

The Register-Guard, Eugene, Oregon, 27 July 2014

Janis Bartmasser Finch
1956 – 2014

The following words are a testament to the goodness that was Janis Finch. She was a passionate person that loved life as strongly and deeply as those that touched her heart. She passed from those that loved her July 17th leaving a void in this world that will never be filled.

Janis was born to Norman and Arlene Bartmasser on June 18th 1956. She was raised in the San Fernando Valley in California along with her brother Barry Bartmasser and sister Sharon Bartmasser.

After graduating high school Janis applied for a job and was hired by Yosemite Park and Curry Company in 1976 where she met her would be husband Michael Finch. They were married in 1978 and after a few strategic moves ended in Eugene, Oregon where they raised their two sons Levi and Sean. Her boys became the sole center of her existence. She took a position with Radiology Associated in 1983 and worked there for 27 years moving up in the organization to the position of Director of Physician Resources.

After retiring she was able to follow a life long dream of travel, volunteer work, and out right exploration of this country while traveling with her husband through his work. She picked up an old hobby of hers, buying and selling items on Ebay and made her hobby into a lucrative enterprise. Over the years she has shared her passion for this with others and helped them to find the same joy she found in her success.

Throughout her life she has touched so many with her kindness, her direct honest approach to life, her sincerity in her joy for life and her honest love of family and friends. To those who knew my "Shorty" consider yourself blessed for you touched the joys that was my life each and every day.

Janis leaves behind her mother Arlene and Stepfather Don Edwards, her husband Michael of 36 years, her brother Barry and sister Sharon, her sons Levi, his wife Stefani, and grandson Hudson Troy. She son Sean, his new wife Mandi along with their two girls Emmy and Jayden. She also leaves an extended family that loved her very much along with a multitude of friends that helped to give her life purpose. Preceded in death by her father Norman.

Her brother Barry Bartmasser, his wife Debbie, her loving sister Sharon Bartmasser and I, would like to invite those who were touched by her to join us for a celebration of life on 23 of August. Please contact either myself at [email protected] or my sister Sharon at [email protected] for details.

In lieu of flowers the family would rather it be donated in Janis Finches name to the Yosemite Conservancy or Greenhill Humane Society of Eugene.
