A former Dansville resident, Mrs. Esther Hinds of Rochester died Friday (May 14, 1976) in Highland Hospital, Rochester, following a long illness. She was 48.

A native of the Dansville area, she lived here until moving to Rochester 23 years ago. She was employed in the cafeteria of the Rush-Henrietta School system. She was a member of the Henrietta Calvin Presbyterian Church and the Make Today Count organization of Rochester.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, George, Roger and Donald of Rochester and Randy of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Wolf of Rochester; her mother, Mrs. Florence Welton of Mt. Morris; three brothers, Robert Welton of Erie, Pa., Francis Welton of Ontario and Gordon Welton of Dansville; eight sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Foster of Dalton, Mrs. Bernice Burgett of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Eugenia Blossom of Rochester, Mrs. Inez Irish of Erie, Pa., Mrs. Leona Dunhamn of Sayre, Pa., and Mrs. Evelyn Caton, Mrs. Marjorie Daly and Mrs. Thelma Stauffer of Dansville.

A funeral service was conducted Monday in the Chamberlin Funeral Home. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Ossian. (Genesee County Express, May 20, 1976, p13)
