After a lingering and painful illness of a year, Miss Eva Augusta Tilden died at the residence of her mother, Mrs. Augusta Tilden, the widow of the late John J. Tilden, 229 Centra avenue, at 8:25 o'clock last night. After short services at the residence last night by W. A. Calloway, secretary and treasurer of the Nunnally company, the body was tkaen to Patterson's undertaking establishment.
The funeral services will be held at Patterson's chapel at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Dr. John E. White, of the Second Baptist church. Miss Tilden was a grandniece of Judge Hal Jones, of Decatur. Telegrams announcing death's approach were sent to her four uncles, who are expected to arrive this morning. They are, S. W. Thorpe, Savannah; R. S. Thorpe, Macon; J. B. Thorpe, Waycross, and C. C. Thorpe, Jacksonville, Florida.
She was also a niece of Mrs. E. T. Dennis and a cousin of Mrs. R. G. Joyner. Besides her mother, Mrs. Augusta Tilden, she leaves a brother, DeWitt Tilden, and two sisters, Misses Alline and Vennie Tilden. The brother, DeWitt Tilden, is proprietor of the Gee Whiz go-round at Ponce de Leon.
One of the lady friends of the young lady offered special prayer that she might pass away peacefully, without another hemorrhage, and thus peacefully and calmly her spriti took its flight. She was very popular with a large circle of friends.
