Helen F. Wachal, age 87, of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, formerly of
Reedsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006.
She was born on June 14, 1918, in the town of Rockland, daughter of the
late Frank and Mary (Manlick) Kubale. Helen married Joseph Wachal on May 8,
1940, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reedsville. She was a member of Holy Family
Parish in Brillion, the Catholic Knights, Kubale O'Connell American Legion Auxiliary Post, Reedsville, and she served on the village of Reedsville election board for many years.
Survivors include her children: Jan (Nick) Schiesl, Menchalville; Pat (Tom) Burkart, Reedsville; Karyl Schaefer, Brillion; Gene (Kay) Wachal, Brillion; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother: Earl (Phyllis) Kubale, South Bend, Ind.; and two sisters-in-law: Edna Kubale, Luxemburg; Mayme Peroutka,
Manitowoc; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her
husband: Joe, on Jan. 26, 1994; a son: Don, a son-in-law: Jim Schaefer; two sisters and two brothers.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday (TONIGHT), Jan. 13, 2006, at 6 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. The Rev. Matt Simonar will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reedsville.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of
mass. The Wieting Funeral Home in Reedsville is assisting the family with
arrangements.
