EMIL SVATEK (d. 1964)

Emil Svatek, 89, of Rt. 1, Reedsville, died Thursday at Manitowoc County Hospital after a six weeks’ illness.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville, the Rev. Andrew Shimek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Svatek was born Jan. 15, 1875, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Frank and Barbara Suchan Svatek. He married Agnes Vondrachek July 6, 1897, at Reedsville and the couple observed its 65th wedding anniversary in 1962. Mrs. Svatek died Sept. 18, 1962. The couple farmed in the Town of Maple Grove until 1940. Mr. Svatek was a member of the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are four sons, Wencel of Manitowoc and Emil Jr., Edward and Adolph of Reedsville; three daughters, Mrs. Alphonse (Mary) Holschbach and Mrs. Albert (Rose) Meyer of Manitowoc and Mrs. William (Agnes) DeCramer of Kewaunee; 29
grandchildren and 87 great grandchildren. Two sons, two daughters, a brother and four sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock this Friday evening.
