Edward L. Cole
Edward Lee Cole, 46, of 1206 Beech, died unexpectedly today at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1925 in Porter County, he was a son of Newton L. and Minnie (Sheets) Cole. On April 30, 1949 in Valparaiso, he married Fern Pyritz, who survives.
He was a 25-year employee with McGill Manufacturing Co., Inc., in the Bearing Division as a tool and die maker. Cole was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran and a member of the VFW 988 and the International Association of Machinists 1227.
Surviving besides his widow are a son, Roger Edward, at home; two brothers, Roy and Robert, both of Valparaiso; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Beverly) Rathburn, Boone Grove, and Mrs. Marvin (Edith) Hamaan, Valparaiso. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Lyal, Glenn, Earl and Allen, and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Schumacher.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Wetmore Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to the Heart Fund or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
