Frank J. Kubale, 78 (photo), former official of the town of Rockland, died suddenly Tuesday morning at his Reedsville home.
Mr. Kubale was born in 1872 in the town of Rockland, and in 1896 married the former Miss Mary Manlick. He was a tavern keeper in the town of Rockland 54 years before moving to Reedsville in 1937. In 1946 Mr. and Mrs. Kubale celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. Kubale served 16 years as town clerk of Rockland and was justice of the peace there 30 years. A member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin 50 years, he was treasurer of that group 25 years. He was also a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mary's Catholic church, Reedsville, and the Knights of St. George.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, March 30 at the Reedsville cooperative funeral home, Reedsville, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic church, Reedsville, Rev. William Koutnik officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Ottelien and Mrs. Joseph Wachal, both of Reedsville and Mrs. Emil Wimmer of Ogden, Wis.; three sons, Clarence of Rockland, Raymond of Luxemburg, Wis., and Earl of Janesville, Wis.; two brothers, Joseph and John, both of Reedsville; three sisters, Mrs. Wenzel Barta of Reedsville, Mrs. John Radey of Franklin, and Mrs. John Dumer?? of Kewaunee; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 until the time of services. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
