He married Blanche Pearl Watson Sept 3, 1900 and she preceded him in death.
In 1944 he married Pearl Shay. She survives.
Also surviving are children Kelsey L, Mable Cook, Opal Shrewbury, Merle, Inetta Perkins, Martha Powell, Herschel, Kathryn Morgan and Verlin; stepson Francis Shay; 17 grandchildren and 15 greats.
He was a farmer most of his life and was a superintendent at the Crawfordsville Casket Company.
