YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC, DEC. 22, 1991, Pg. C6-Mrs. Iva D. Hitchcock, 82, of Yakima, died Friday, December 20, 1991 in Central Canvalescent where she had resided for about a year. She was born on July 17, 1909 in Commerce, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sylvester and Louisa (Franklin) Ussery. She was raised and educated in Commerce and in 1936 she moved to Yakima. In August, 1941, she was married to Archie Lee Hitchcock in Yakima. Later she attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing where she earned he Licensed Practical Nurse license and for several years she worked in St. Elizabeth Med. Ctr. and Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1969. She was a member of St. Paul's Cathedral and her enjoyments included sewing, crocheting, bingo and reading. Her surviving family includes one daughter, Delores Taylor of Westport, Wa,; two granchildren, Rhonda Logan of Renton and Sheila Davidson of Yakima, six great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Lee Hitchcock in 1986 and by nine brothers and sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul's Cathedral. Concluding service and interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Shaw and Sons Memorial Chapel, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials may be made to Central Convalescent Activity Dept.
