YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC- Tuesday Nov. 11, 1986- ARCHIE HITCHCOCK- Archie Lee Hitchcock, 76, of 808 N. Fourth St. died Monday morning in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born Feb. 22, 1910, in Squires, Mo., to Sherman and Judith A. ( Workman) Hitchcock. He was raised and educated in Squires. He moved to Yakima in 1936. He lived in Yakima for a brief time before returning to Ava, Mo. He and Iva D.Ussery of Ava were married Aug. 13, 1938, in Yakima. They made their home in Yakima. Mr. Hitchcock was an automotive mechanic and later was a ranch foreman for the Prentice ranches for 15 years. He retired in 1971. He was a member of St. Paul Cathedral. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Iva D. Hitchcock of Yakima; a daughter, Delores Taylor of Westport; a brother Bill Hitchcock of Ava; three sisters, Jane Mitchell and Dolly Roberts, both of Springfield, Mo., and Maggie Fleetwood of Squires; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah, and three brothers, including Fred Hitchcock and Charlie Hitchcock. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in Shaw ans Sons Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sundown M Ranch, P.O. Box 217, Selah, 98942.
