Carl F. Schipull Funeral Saturday In Methodist Church

Carl F Schipull, 72, of Goldfield died Wednesday morning in the Community Hospital at Clarion following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p m Saturday in the Goldfield Methodist church with burial in Glenwood Cemetery.

The pastor Rev. Duane O'Tool will officiate.

Mr Schipull is survived by two sons, Verne of Clarion and Duane of Goldfield. Other survivors are eleven grandchildren, three brothers, Rudolf of Goldfield, Albert of LuVerne and Walter of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Orville Carlson of Albert City and Mrs. A. R. Young of Rockford, Ill.

Mr. Schipull was born in Norway Township, Wright County and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schipull. He was educated in the Renwick schools and attended Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls.

He was married to Laura Yanney on Oct. 14, 1925 at Woolstock, and the couple began farming near Goldfield. He retired in 1953 and Mr. and Mrs. Schipull made their home in Goldfield.

He was a member of the Goldfield Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge of which he was a Past Master, the White Shrine and Order of Eastern Star in Eagle Grove.

He was presently a director in the Goldfield Stale Bank, has served on the Farmers Elevator Cooperative board, Goldfield Community School board and was active in many community, church and lodge circles.

Masonic services will be held at the Sandvig Funeral Home in Eagle Grove Friday evening at 8 o'clock, by the Goldfield, Renwick, and Eagle Grove Masonic Lodges.

LuVerne man's brother dies

Carl Schipull, 72 of Goldfield and brother of well-known LuVerne farmer Albert Schipull, died Wednesday at Clarion. Funeral services for him were held Saturday at Goldfield with burial there. He was a director of the Goldfield State Bank and a retired farmer. Besides the LuVerne brother, he is survived by his wife, two sons, 11 grandchildren, two other brothers and two sisters.

Carl Frederick Schipull was born, October 6, 1894 in Norway Twp. Wright County, Iowa to Charles and Sadie Schipull. He passed away at the Community Hospital in Clarion, Iowa, September 13, 1967 at the age of 72 years, 11 months, and 7 days.

Mr. Schipull, a resident of Goldfield, Iowa was educated in the Renwick Schools and later at Ellsworth Jr. College in Iowa Falls. He was united in marriage to Laura Yanney October 14, 1925, near Woolstock, and began farming in that area for the next two years. In 1928 he moved to the Goldfield area where he continued to farm until his retirement in 1953, at which time he moved into Goldfield. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Goldfield, the Masonic Lodge in Goldfield of which he was Past Master, the Royal Arch Chapter, the White Shrine, and the Star at Eagle Grove. He served on numerous boards in Goldfield (Elevator, Bank, and School Board); and was active in many other community and church affairs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Harlan; one brother, John Schipull; and two sisters, one in infancy and Clara, Mrs. David Gearhart.

Mr. Schipull is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Verne Schipull of Clarion and Duane Schipull of Goldfield; 11 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Rudolph of Goldfield, Albert of LuVerne, and Walter of Arlington, Virginia, and 2 sisters, Alma, Mrs. Orville Carlson of Albert City, Iowa and Olga, Mrs. A. R. Young of Rockford, Illinois.

Rites Held For Carl Schipull, 72

Funeral services for Carl Frederick Schipull, 72, a director of the Goldfield State Bank were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist church with the Rev. Duane H. O'Tool officiating.

Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. The Sandvig Funeral Home in Eagle Grove in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schipull died Wednesday at Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion where he had been a patient since Sunday.

Survivors include his wife Laura; two sons, Duane, Goldfield, and Verne, Clarion; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, Rudolph, Goldfield; Albert, LuVerne; Walter, Arlington, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. Orville Carlson, Albert City, and Mrs. A. R. Young, Rockford, Ill.
