William moved with his parents in the late 1850's to Warren county, Iowa where his father worked as a carpenter but they returned to farm in Pottawattamie county, IA in the 1860's. William married Jennie Golay? on 12 Dec 1874 in Cass county, IA. They farmed in Pottawattamie county and had children, Enola and Milton P.
After the death of Jennie in 1878, William continued to farm and lived near his parents with the children. He married Susanna Barnes on 14 Jan 1883 in Cass county, Iowa. They settled on a farm in Knox county, NE in the 1880's. In the early 1900's, William retired from farming and moved into Verdel, NE. William sold insurance until retiring completely by 1920.
William & Susanna had children: Valerie, Jessie, Leonard and Leona.
