The funeral service for DeWayne G. Schneckloth, 72 of rural Stewartville will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley Township, with the Rev. Ron Prigge officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Schneckloth died Wednesday June 25, 2014 following a sudden illness. He died at Mayo clinic Hospital in Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

He was born Oct.9, 1941 in Minneapolis. He moved as an infant to rural Grand Meadow, where he was raised by his grandparents, George and Julia Schneckloth. He grew up on their farm, attended Grand Meadow schools, graduating from Grand Meadow high School in 1960. He attended Austin Vocational Technical School, graduating with an auto mechanics degree. DeWayne was married July 20, 1963 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He and his wife moved to High Forest, where they raised their kids and have continued to make their home there.

DeWayne was employed as a mechanic at Lebens Ford, Sinn Oil Co., and for a number of years at House Chevrolet, all in Stewartville. After two years at Harold's Auto Electric in Rochester, he owned and operated 3-D Auto Electric in Stewartville for over 20 years until his retirement in 2000. He had been employed part-time for the last 4 years as a parking lot attendant at the Rochester International Airport. His wife was employed as a nurse's aide for 35 years at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley. He was a member of the Southeastern Area Tractor Puller's Association and also served on its board. He had a passion for John Deere Tractors and built two tractors that won many trophies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on the pontoon.

We is survived by his wife, 1 son, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

He was preceded in death (by the grand parents that raised him) and 2 brothers Dennis and Doug Hameister. Also his birth parents.
