OBITUARY: Found in Roberta June Burmood Shunkwiler's scrapbook, probably from a Wood River newspaper, Wood River, Hall Co., Nebraska dated about Oct. 17, 1998.
GERTRUDE STONE
"Gertrude Alice Stone, 95, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998 at her home. Born Oct. 22, 1902, in Wood River, NE, she lived on and off in Baldwin Park, CA for 60 years and belonged to the Baldwin Park Methodist Church. She was a retired Hotel/motel owner and manager.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Earl Stone, her sister Jess and brother-in-law Robert Willey, grandson Kenneth Simmons, and great granddaughter, Jana Mach.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Tony Garcia; granddaughters Janice Mims of Oceanside, CA, Karla Hughes and Stacy Cowan, both of Fountain Valley, CA; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
No memorial service is planned, but family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Oceanside Senior Citizens Center, 455 Country Club Lane, Oceanside, CA 92054."
