OBITUARY: Found in Roberta June Burmood Shunkwiler's scrapbook and taken from The Chico Enterprise-Record, Chico, Butte Co., California and dated about Nov 29, 1974.
LILLIAN B BURMOOD
"ENTERED INTO ETERNAL REST FRIDAY, NOV 29, 1974 - Lillian B Burmood - GRIDLEY (E-R) - Last rites will be conducted Tuesday in Grand Island, Neb. for Lillian B. Burmood, 92 of 920 Sky Meadow Drive, Placentia, Orange County.
Mrs. Burmood, who had come to the Gridley area just 24 hours prior for the Thanksgiving holidays, died early Friday morning at a local hospital. Mrs. Burmood had been in failing health for several years.
Born Aug. 26, 1882, in Wood River, Nev., Mrs. Burmood was a member of First Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Royal Neighbors of America, all of Grand Island.
Survivors include four daughters, Pearl Whisenand of Aurora, Neb.; Beulah Tibbs of Gridley, Ramona Powers of Wood River and Robert Shunkwiler of Placentia; three sons, Chester of Sun City, Raymond of Red Cloud, Neb., and Virgil of West Covina; 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Local arrangements are in charge of the Block Funeral Home."
