Union - George H. Hughes, 58, 7200 Tenth East, died Tuesday, 9:45 p.m., in a Salt Lake hospital of cancer.
Born July 2, 1900, Salt Lake City, to Thomas H. and Sarah Jane Jeffs Hughes. Married Zina Cole, Sept. 9, 1919, Salt Lake City. Head dispatcher, D&RGW Railroad. Member, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. American Train Dispatchers Assn., Order of the Railroad Telegraphers Assoc.
Survivors: widow, son, Dr. Warren M. Hughes, Salt Lake City; two grandchildren, four sisters: Mrs. Effie Anderson, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Olive Esperson, Midvale; Mrs. Delbert (Theatha) Townsend, Murray; Mrs. E. D. (Mary) Curtis, Springville, Utah County.
Funeral Friday noon, Union First LDS Ward Chapel, 7400 Tenth East. Friends may call at 4760 S. State Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Burial in Midvale City Cemetery.
