MYRTLE (VANCE) SMOTHERS ROBINSON ROBINSON, 72, of Jacksonville, formerly of Griggsville died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1982 in Passavant Hospital, Jacksonville. Born May 31, 1910 in Palmyra, she was the daughter of Sidney and Emma Elizabeth Draper Vance. She married Lawrence Smothers who died in 1952. She married Oliver Robinson who also preceded her. She married James Melvin Robinson on April 28, 1974 in Nillwood and he survives. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Jacksonville. Surviving are two sons, Walter S. Smothers of Bement and Lawrence Smothers, Jr., of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs Charles (Emma) Winchester of Jacksonville and Mrs James (Betty) Brasel of Beardstown; one sister, Mrs Trula Sheppard of Eagerville; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; seven stepchildren, 33 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded by seven sisters and one brother. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Griggsville Church of the Nazarene, conducted by Pastor William Renner and Pastor Larry Hopkins. Burial was in Griggsville cemetery. Memorials may be made to the building fund of the Church of the Nazarene in Jacksonville.
