Mrs. Lucy Violett Clark was born June 14, 1890, near Fillmore, Missouri, and passed away March 16, 1954, at Osceola. On March 17, 1905, she was united in marriage to Walter Orey Clark at Hawarden, and later moved to Clarke county where she spent most of her life.
To mourn their loss she leaves her husband; two daughters, Flora Marshall of Weldon and Mildred Andrew of Sacramento, Calif.; three sons, Alfred of Humboldt, Leslie and Maurice of Osceola; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lilly Clark of St. Joseph, Mo., Laura Tully, Goldie Ryan and Margaret Pruitt, all of Des Moines; eight brothers, Ora, John and William Violett of St. Joseph, Mo., Carl Violett of Dayton, Montana, Fred Violett of Billings, Montana, Leon Violett of Minneapolis, Minn., and Geo. Violett of Gladbrook; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Besides raising her own family she reared one granddaughter, Janice Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, her father and mother and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducated by Rev. Warren Hile, at the Webster funeral home, Friday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
