Samuel Porter Brown, 84, of 1170 Lupin Lane NW, died Friday in a Sublimity nursing home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Barrick Funeral Home with private interment in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Brown was a native of Cutler, Ill., and lived in the Salem area for 30 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving are his widow .Allie; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Borden, Bonanza, Utah, and Mrs. Illa Caldwell, Salem; three sons, Ivan Henry, Glenn Samuel and Donald Ray, all of California; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl McClure, Illinois, and Mrs. Dell Stevenson, Huntington; three brothers, Scott, California, Charles Ivan, Salem, and Frank, Idaho; nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
