Gladys Rose Breuer, 94, of Lake City, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Lake City Care Center.

She was born on January 2, 1920 in West Albany to Rose and Otto Zillgitt. She was baptized on January 18, 1920 and confirmed on May 25, 1933. She grew up in Moran Coulee until the 6th grade. The family moved to Lake Township where she attended parochial and rural schools. She graduated from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran School on May 26, 1933. Gladys helped out on the family farm and worked for other families until she married Eldon C. Breuer on September 24, 1940 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. To this union six children were born. They farmed for 63 years on their farm in Belvidere Township and moved to Lake City on January 18, 2003. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of West Florence where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, hanging laundry on the line to dry, and exhibiting at the Goodhue County Fair.

Survivors include her six children, DeeAnn (Marvin) Reihsen of Rosemount, MN, Paulene (Don) Storm of Rice Lake, WI, Gayle (Peter) Jackson of Willis, VA, Jeff (Marion) Breuer of Lake City, MN, Scott (Beth) Breuer of Lake City, MN, and Phil Breuer of Red Wing, MN; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orlin Zillgitt of Lake City, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Fredrick and Allen and one sister, Florence Zillgitt.

Funeral will be Monday June 23rd 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church West Florence at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Otto officiating. Burial will be in West Florence Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
