Arthur Brzon, son of Michael and Frances Brzon, was born August 16, 1899, near Du Bois, Nebr., and died January 19, 1990, at Heartland Care Center in Belleville, at the age of 90 years, five months and three days.
He received his education at Maple Grove, Star, and Dry Lake Schools. In 1910 he moved with his parents to a farm near Narka, later to Rose Creek Township and then to Liberty Township in Republic County. In 1915 he went into farming with his father and in 1918 started his own farming business. In 1920 he purchased a threshing machine and did steamer and custom threshing for many years. He was a grain and livestock farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1989; one infant daughter, Olga Jane in 1923, two sisters, Olga Vishnefske, Otillie Vanous, one brother, Michael.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. LaVon (Twila) Bowersox of Belleville; three sons, Loren of Belleville, George of Raytown, Mo., Kenneth of Belleville; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Cerny of Belleville, Mrs. Helen Marsicek of Belleville, Mrs. Frances Palacek of Munden; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 23 at the United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, conducted by Rev. Garth Barber. Interment was in Belleville Cemetery.
He was united in marriage to Anna Hanzlick, October 19, 1921, and to this union five children were born. They lived on a farm northwest of Munden until 1937 when they purchased a farm west of Belleville. In 1955 they retired to Belleville. He entered Heartland Care Center in 1987.
