L. L. Snow, P-WA
Airport Manager,
Dies Suddenly

Hartford , May 7 - (UP) - Lorenzo L. Snow, manager of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft airport department and one of this country's air pioneers, died of a heart attack early today.
Mr. Snow was found in his bedroom by his wife about 1 a.m. in their home in West Hartford.
Known to thousands of aviation enthusiasts as "Lory" his death marks the end of an aviation career that nearly spans the industry's 51 - year history.
In the airmen fraternity Mr. Snow was known as "a real old-timer." Mention any name in aviation from the Wright brothers down and the chances were the "Lory" Snow could recite a little anecdote about the person that only a close friend would know.
He was born in Brigham City, Utah, August 26, 1885. His father was one of this country's pioneers who trekked westward during those years that the country was expanding. The elder Mr. Snow followed Brigham Young into Utah and became the fifth president of the Mormon Church.
"Lory" Snow left the Mormon colony in Salt Lake City in 1906 to visit Europe. That was only three years after the Wright brothers first flight at Kitty Hawk.
Mr. Snow leaves his widow, Mrs. Cornelia Callaghan Snow; a son Richard L. Snow and a daughter, Mrs. Malcolm C. Armstrong, all of West Hartford; a brother and two sisters, none of whom live in Connecticut, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 776 Farmington Avenue, at 2:30 p.m., Monday. The Rev. Elden H. Mills will officiate. Cremation will follow in Springfield, Mass. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Friends are asked to omit flowers and instead make contributions to the Heart Fund.
