Mrs. Katherine N. Heckman, formerly of White Deer, died yesterday at the Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown, where she was a resident since 1980.
Born February 27, 1902 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Barnett L. and Ida B. Wingate Nitterhouse. Her husband John C,. Heckman died in 1968.
She was employed at the Montgomery Dress Factory.
Mrs. Heckman was a member of the Faith Chapel Methodist Church, White Deer, and the Gleaner Class of the Sunday School.
She is survived by five sons, John C., Jr. of New Columbia, Harold N. of Nashville, TN., Clarence W.of White Deer, Guy A. of Milton and William E. of Muncy; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Baker of Watsontown and Mrs. Jessie Prowant of Milton; 17 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Bernice Bly of Strasburg, VA.
She was preceded in death by 7 brothers, one sister and a grandson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday in the Shaw Funeral Home , Milton, by the Rev. Ralph M. Hibbs. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
