23 Oct 1971: Katie M. Althouse Witmer, widow of Jacob Witmer, Myerstown RD 2, died this morning in the Lebanon Valley General Hospital at the age of 68. Born in Bethel Township, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Mary Deturk Althouse. Her husband died in 1961. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Avon. Surviving are five brothers, Clarence, Fleetwood RD 3; Ralph, Kempton RD 2; Adam J. Greenfield; Alvin, Lebanon, and Paul H., Mt. Pleasant, S.C. [Lebanon Daily News]

26 Oct 1971: Services were held this afternoon at the Clauser Funeral Home, Schaefferstown, for Katie M. Witmer, widow of Jacob Witmer, Myerstown RD 2. The Rev. William Seaman, pastor of Grace United Church of Christ, South Lebanon, officiated. Interment was in Schaefferstown Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Harold Althouse, Ronnie Hunsicker, Simon Heisey, Lloyd Miller, Lowell Gassert and Earl Blouch. [Lebanon Daily News]
