OBITUARY
George Homer Hays, son of Mondel E and Margaret Amelia Hays, was born September 2 1907 at Manilla, Crawford county, Iowa. He passed away at the Clarke county hospital on March 13, 1956, at the age of 48 years, 5 months and 11 days.

On March 17, 1945, he was united in marriage to Etola McConnell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Watson of Murray, Iowa.

He was 10 years old when he with his parents moved to Clarke county and the remainder of his life he lived in Clarke County.

Those left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife and two step-sons, Ira, who is in the army and Larry at home; three brothers, Roscoe, Sears and Chester Hays of Osceola, and three sisters, Mrs. Clayton Mateer, Mrs. Cecil Loomis and Mrs. Maxine Vawn, all of Osceola, two brother-in-law; seven nieces, Mrs. James McCabe of Bellflower, Calif., Mrs. Frank Townsend of Paramount, Calif., Mrs. Bill Diehl of Mason City, Iowa, and Mrs. John Smith, Mrs. Herbert Hamilton, Mary Margaret Vawn and Linda Mateer of Osceola, and four nephews, Richard Vawn, Clayton E. Mateer, Ray Martin and Larry Mateer, all of Osceola.

His mother passed away Feb. 7, 1942, his father on May 11, 1952 and a brother, Gilbert Earl, at the age of 11 years.

Besides the family as mentioned above, George leaves a host of friends.
