He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he taught the Adult Sunday School class for many years and was a certified Lay Speaker.
He was a former Boy Scout and Scout Master.
Mr. Alsobrooks was a retired textile Industrial Engineer.
He was also the founder of the Clover Shakers Parkinson Support Group.
