So Very Loved

Our beautiful mother, grandmother and sister, Lucille Burrows Smith, passed away April 30, 2004, with her loved ones surrounding her at her home in Salt Lake City.

Lucille was born November 30, 1914, to Lewis Lowder Burrows and Myrle Snyder Burrows in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised there and graduated from East High School in 1931. She married John Stuart Craig December 10, 1932. She later married Hyrum J. Smith July 21, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lucille had a long business career, working at various firms throughout the years, including A.A. Maycock and Smoot Knoche. She always exemplified excellence in every job she undertook.

Lucille loved her Heavenly Father. She had many callings in the LDS Church and fulfilled all of them with her wonderful sense of devotion and fun.

Lucille personified love and generosity. Everyone who knew her loved her. Her family will especially miss her delightful laughter, her sweet smile and her beautiful, caring eyes.

In her later years, Lucille was afflicted with Alzheimer's disease. Her family rallied around her to provide comfort, home and yard work, and to help with her personal care. Her daughter, Peggy, was always by her side, loving and caring for her during this difficult period.

Lucille is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Shirley (Ray) Montgomery of Salt Lake City; Peggy (Reo) Cutler of Holladay; and Linda Craig of Galeana, Chihuahua, Mexico; 29 grandchildren; 109 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Duane (Beverly) of Provo; Reid (Norma) of Richfield; Gail of Eagle Mountain; sister Joyce Miller of Holladay. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brothers Don, Grant and Wesley, sisters Bevis Oviatt and Vera Kocherhans, and grandson, Scott Cutler.
