Even though there is no death date on this gravestone for Grace, I have verified with the office at Shaul Cemetery that she is buried here.

An obituary was published for Grace in The Ottumwa Courier of February 25, 1998.

She married Wesley Barnhill in 1923 in Ottumwa, and after his death, she married Carl Maring in 1964. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Ottumwa and was a nurses' aide for 30 years.

Grace was survived by three sons, Wesley "Pete" Barnhill and David Barnhill, both of Ottumwa and Robert Barnhill of West Des Moines; a daughter, Beulah Pearson of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leo Barnhill in 1986; and a daughter, Adaline Banning.
