U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant Donald Lee Geesey (Retired), 73, formerly of Dallastown, passed away at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland on Saturday, May 24, 2014.

He was born in Dallastown, on July 21, 1940, the son of the late Marlet and Blanche (Miller) Geesey.

Donald was a graduate of Northern Joint High School.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired after twenty-one years of military service.

In civilian life, Donald worked for Borg Warner as an Electrician and retired after thirty-two years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Donald was well known for his green thumb and his gardens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Linda Washington.

Donald was the beloved husband of Dolores E. (Lefebvre) Geesey and they celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on April 21, 2014.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Lynn Swinford and her husband, David, Terry Ruppert and her husband, Dino, and Katherine Spence and her husband, Bob; his sons: Ken Geesey, Russell Riley and his wife, Mary, and James Riley; his seventeen grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and, his sisters: Marilyn Kern and Joan Klingenmaier.

A Funeral Service to honor Donald's life will be held at 03:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main Street, Dallastown with the Rev. Lawrence A. Cunnings officiating. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 02:00 OM until the start of the service.

Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Friends and family are asked to meet at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Incorporated, 104 W. Main Street, Dallastown at 08:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2014 to follow in procession to the cemetery.
