Douglas Henry,63,passed away on Tuesday,October 1, He was the son of Georgia Young Henry and the late Hurstel Henry. and was preseded in death by three step-sisters, Ada, Verna, and Arphie and two step-brothers, Linton and Quenton Henry. Mr Henry, who was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, recently retired from Highland Telephone Cooperative after 41 years of service. He is survived by his wife,Wanda Williams Henry;five children, Scott Henry of knoxville, Pam Bradley of Elgin, Lisa Hughett and husband Mike of Oneida,and Chris Henry and wife Tina, and Eric Henry, all of Elgin; ten gradchildren,Crystal Slaven and husband Roger, Zane Henry, Brian and Amanda Bradley, Samuel and Andrew Hughett, and Holden, Tyler, Hunter and Ashton Henry;one great-grandchild, Baliegh Slaven;his mother Georgia Young Henry; brothers, Winfred Henry and wife Betty of Indiana, Dolphus Henry and wife Brenda of Oneida, Ledford Henry and wife Wanda of Elgin, and Fisher Henry of Elgin;Sisters,Velma Purser and husband Dickey of Atlanta Ga.,and Eunice Henry and Syble Stringfield and husband Irvin of Knoxville;one step-sister,Ruby Kearney of Knoxville; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday,October 3,2002 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Milford Ely officiating. Special music was provided bt the Trinity Girls. Interment services were conducted on Friday,October 4, at 11.a.m. at the Henry Hollow Cemetery. Jones & Son Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of the arrangements. obituitary by family
