TUSCALOOSA | Virginia R. Mack, age 84, of 2811 40th Ct., Lincoln Park, departed this life on Jan. 6 at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Sat., Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church on Kicker Rd. with Rev. Ulysses Lewis, church pastor, and Rev. Clarence Sutton, Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Van Hoose and Steele Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Visitation will be Fri., Jan. 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was retired from W.D. Partlow Development Center and was well known for her culinary skills. Her greatest joy was her faith in God and preparing her world famous sweet rolls.

Survivors include five daughters, Geraldine Owens Adams, Gloria Owens Effinger, Doris Mack Matthews, Alma Ruth Dykes, and Kathy Mack Davis, all of Tuscaloosa; three sons, Johnny Owens of Chicago, Ill., Jimmy “Pop" Owens (Jeanette) of Tuscaloosa and Willie Lee Dykes of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Johnnie Robinson (Lois) of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Juanita Robinson Barnett of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Jackson of Tuscaloosa and Mary Lou Robinson of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, John F. Adams, Nicole Owens Wilson (Albert), Warren Mack (Andrea), Jeffrey Mack (Anita), Jerry Matthews, Dennis Mack, Arthur, Damon and Andre` Snead, Deniece Dykes, Eris Davis, Iris Davis, Kristy Blackmon, Datona Taylor (Merrick), Kimberly and Jennifer Dillon, Marcus Moore, Anjanette Owens, Peka Trone, Delshon Trone, Jerry and Larissa Dykes. Her grandson, Barry Owens, preceded her in death.
