Married John OLIVER Cochran on Jan. 16, 1835 in Lancaster Co, PA. This union produced 10 children, seven surviving when Oliver enlisted in the Army.
The Cochrans' oldest son Martin also served in same Army unit as his father; Martin died of battle wounds in the last days of the Civil War.
Hetty, left with 3 minor children at time of Oliver's death, applied for a military widow's pension in Apr. 1863 and collected it until her death.

Why two links to Oliver below?
The 1st is to the Antietam battlefield, wherein Oliver was initially buried.
The 2nd is to the Marietta Cemetery, where [in 1879] the Army delivered a grave marker to commemorate Oliver's service. No record is known to show that Oliver was actually reinterred to Marietta. Hence, his remains are likely among the Unknowns at Antietam National Cemetery.
