Eula "Mae" Bishop Alford was born on January 8, 1933 and passed away at home in Hearne, Texas on May 10, 2014 at the age of 81. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne. Funeral services will be on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Hearne where she was a member for about 50 years. Burial will follow at Norwood Cemetery.

Mae is survived in death by her two daughters, Karen Rains and husband, Randy of Bryan and Betty Heath and husband, Luke of College Station; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Rains Chavez and husband, Michael of New Mexico and Amy Prachyl Heath Nix of Bryan and Rachel Heath Money and husband, Elliott of Hearne; 3 great grandchildren, Sara Nix, Thomas Nix and Jonathan Money.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Walter Bishop and Beulah Mae Tidwell Bishop of Hearne and one daughter, Linda Lane Alford Jacobus.

Mae loved her family and taking pictures. She volunteered at Hearne Health Care for the last 10 years. She had a great since of humor and was always smiling. Her greatest accomplishment was the raising of her 3 daughters, one of whom was handicapped, by herself.
