Interment was in Norwood Cemetery of Hearne. Pallbearers were James Barr, Lee Langford, Jack Deason, Adrian Richter, O.L. Harris, Jr. and Horace Mathews. Members of the Hearne Fire Department, chapter members of the Hearne Future Farmers of America and employees of Brookshire Brothers were named as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Bishop died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, while on a business trip to Springfield, Missouri. Death was attributed to a sudden heart seizure there at Cox Medical Center Hospital.
Mr. Bishop was born July 13, 1926 in Hearne to Mr. and Mrs. J. Walter Bishop, attended the Hearne schools and spent the majority of his lifetime in Hearne where he was in the hog raising and feed business in recent years. Mr. Bishop was a retired volunteer fireman and had been interested in FFA work and related areas all his life. He was active in Grace Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Berniece Bishop; two sons, Gary Bishop and Bob Alan Bishop; one daughter, Miss Dorothy Bishop; one grandson; his father, J.W. Bishop; one brother, Roy Lee Bishop, all of Hearne; and four sisters, Mrs. Alice Ryder, Mrs. Connie Bates and Miss Jo Ann Bishop of Hearne and Mrs. Eula Mae Alford of Bryan.
